We've updated our rules to allow for more freedom when it comes to editing your photographs. Please take the time to familiarize yourself with the changes. We've highlighted some of the changes below.

Submission Phase

  • With the exception of the monthly contests, the submission phase for each contest has been extended by 2 weeks. This means that any photograph that was taken up to 2 weeks prior to the contest announcement will be eligible.

As an example, if you went to the Zoo last weekend and took some photos, and this week's contest is "Animals", your photographs are still eligible for the contest.  Please check the contest dates carefully when submitting. This change is effective starting with the "Straight and Twisted" contest.

Photographic Artwork

  • There are no restrictions on how you can edit your image

As long as the photographs are taken during the submission phase, you may combine and edit your photographs however you please. This change is effective starting with the "Straight and Twisted" contest.

Modern Editing

  • You may now add a border to your image

  • Your entry may consist of an unlimited number of exposures using different framing for the purposes of creating panorama style photographs.

We hope these changes will improve your experience at PWO Contests.

OK, let me se if I have this right. The Symmetry contest says this:

Shooting Period : Jun 4th 2012 - Jun 17th 2012

Submission Period : Jun 4th 2012 - Jun 17th 2012

But really the shooting period now extends back to May 21? Is that right?
If so, will you be editing the "shooting period" dates in the contest descriptions?

The Symmetry contest was announced a week ago, and therefore the new rules do not apply to that specific contest.

The first contest with the adjusted shooting period is the "Straight or Twisted" contest:

Shooting Period : May 28th 2012 - Jun 24th 2012
Submission Period : Jun 11th 2012 - Jun 24th 2012
